The ride

Planning to start at 5:00 am, hoping to see sunrise. Damn! its already 6:30, missed the sunrise already. Must get ready though. Ropes – Check, Bags – check, heartbeat – check, lets roll now.

Osiris is finally roaring at 8:00 am.  Off we head southwards.

Crossed city and its almost 8:30, not bad. Heading on ECR (East Coast Road), Bay of Bengal lies on left. Its a beautiful day, cool breeze is hitting the face. A yellow apache appears in mirror.

Is he trying to race? Nah! doesn’t look like. Or maybe he is. I’m settled for calm 80-85. Wifey has started getting uncomfortable, perhaps I should brush him off. I am accelerating and so is he, speedometer is showing triple digits now. Its been almost 2 mins and the fucker is still running parallel. Time for Plan-B.

Thankfully Mahabalipuram is nearing, if I stop-over for breakfast perhaps I may lose him. Turning left for Mahabalipuram, heading into A2B. Ordering some snacks and taking some snaps. Its 10:00 already, should leave. Apache is gone, peace restored. Note to self: Similar people will be encountered on further trips. Don’t panic.

Pondy – Finally

The roads were great, the weather was great but the destination has come – Pondy. Must head into the hotel. WTF! staff says they cannot provide room on time. What are we supposed to do for 2 hours. The discussion with staff did not go well, must find an alternate hotel. Worst case – roam around and head back, no exactly as planned but doable nonetheless.

Found another hotel after searching for 30 mins. A bit out of range but manageable. The room will be available in next 1 hour though. Checked with original hotel. They have cancelled the booking. Great! have to stay here in any case. The hunger is hitting, time to grab something. Had lunch in a restaurant opposite hotel, 1 hour goes by and the room is available. Enter room, crash.

Its evening, time to roam around.
